This is claimed to be the fastest passage by any steamer on her maiden trip. The daily runs, in sea miles,. Were 330, 426, 414, 443, 441, 445, and '3Bo, the first and last days being only part of the 24 hours. The greatest rnn, -445' iknots, was equal to 513 statute miles, making an average speed of 21.37 statute miles per hour for that one day, and an average speed through the entire passage of 18.4 statute miles.
