The House then went int© Committee on the supplementary estimates, and a long discussion ensued on the vote of. £10,000 subsidy of pou v id for pound on rates col ected on goldfields. The item of LIO,OOO for goldfields subsidies was passed without alteration. The Land Bill has been received in a mutilated condition, and a number <>f amendments were disagreed with. Little or no alteration was made in the Supplementary Estimates.
