MORE HELP FOR THE RAILWAY.
Christchuroh, July 30. The Lyttelton Harbor Board, 'at its meeting to-day, passed the following resolution:; — " That this Board, representing nearly the whole of the district of North Canterbury, which will .be-affe'cted under the contemplated arrangement now before Parliament for the construction of the East and W_est Coast Railway^ is of opinion that the^present opportunity for the speedy ; carrying out .of : this ' most important colonial; work- should^n 5t be lost, even if the district must be ratesior the purpose." • -.-'•■ ■.:■:>. : . ,^-.
