Juiy23. Last night a severe accident happened to the Avonside 'bus. : When leaving town the driver, Ball, gave the rein to a passenger named Cooper, while he left his seat to whip off some boys from the back. The horses became unmanageable, and | dashed under a shop verandah, and Cooper ! and John Hebden, editor of the Canter- | bury Times, were severely crushed. HebJ den had several ribs broken, and received ? internal , injuries. Cooper's spine is injured, and lower limbs paralysed.
