OPENING OF PARLIAMENT. Brisbane, July 8. The Queensland Parliament has been opened. The Governor's speech on the occasion stated that the revenue . returns for the past twelve months showed that the prosperity of the colony was increasing. The speech promised the introduction of Bills for the following purposes .* — , To prevent the landing of criminals on the" Queensland coast ; bo provide for the appointment of an additional Minister ; to amend the Volunteer Act md remodel the forces ; to provide for railway extension out of loans ; to authorise the recoupment of expenses of members of the Assembly..
