A BRUTAL ASSAULT.

Sergeant Andrew Clarke was brutally - assaulted by Michael Dungan, of the ship Turakina while endeavoring to effect his arrest for a breach of the "Seamens and Shipping Act." Dugan had to be placed in irons during the voyage. Two constables assisted Sergeant Clarke to take him to the lock up.
