BRUNNER SPORTS.

[to the editor.] Sir, — I wish through your columns to place the following before the public. On Monday, 26th ult., four of us in a party engaged a buggy to go to Brunnerton sports, and on arriving at the bridge at Brunnerton we were insolently demanded to pay the toll. On asking how much, he replied 4s. Not having the required change, we paid ss. He then stated he did not know whether that was sufficient ; but on threatening to make enquiries on our ( 'return of the stationmaster the; money, (ss) was refunded. On arriving at the grounds the gatekeeper informed us that the price of admission was 2s each, i Two of us paid what was demanded ; the other two Is each, which we found was sthe correct charge. ->ii I- think such conduct and extra charges -(will not tend to benefit sports which may Ac held there for the future.— l am, &c, .'■-.-■• . A Visitor.
