Thomas, late of the Cadets, was u> animously cbosen Lieutenant, Mr W. S. Smith having resigned. There are few Greymouth people who wil. not regret to learn ot the death of Mr J. Deceased had marjy friends, as he was possessed of sterling qualities, and alwajs took a keen interest in every public question affecting the welfare of Greymouth.
