TWO GOOD PARTY MEN.

Wellington, June 8. Mr J. C. Brown addressed his constituents at Waitahuna. He condemned the system of retrenchment adopted by the Government, and approved of Pyke's action re Otago runs. He ridiculed the idea of Hall ever favoring the opening of land or the cutting up of runs. A vote of confidence was passed. W. D. Stewart addressed his constituents at Dunedin, and said Government last session had no policy but to keep- in office at all risks. The Redistribution of Seats Bill had been cooked in the interests of their supporters. He criticised Oliver's figures as to railway savings, and said their comparisons were unfair and misleading. A vote of thanks and confidence passed.
