WHEREAS by the "Salmon and TrmM Act, 1867" (hereinafter termed "the raid Act"), it is, among other things enacted that it Bhall be lawful for the Governor, from time to time, as may beoeme necessary, to make such regulations as to the Governor seems expedient for the preservation and propagation of yonng salmon, salmon fry and spawn, and young trout, trout fry and spawn, upon its importation into this Colony, and for other purposes connected therewith, as is Bet forth therein; and from time to time to rescind such regulations, and substitute others In lieu thereof; And whereat certain regulations were made for the purposes of the Bald Aofc, and published in the Government Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty; and it is expedient that such last-mentioned regulations should be rescinded, and others substituted in lien thereof : Now, therefore, I, James Pren* dergast, the Administrator of the Colony of New Zealand, In pursuance andexeroise of the hereinbefore recited, power and authority, and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, under the said Act, do hereby rescind the said' last-mentioned regulations, published on the said twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, and further do make the following regulations, that is to • wy.r- ..•■■•:■■■■ I. Fishing with fixed neta in the under, mentioned nvers or streams (wherein yonng ' salmon, or salmon fry or spawn, or young trout, or trout fry or spawn, is plaoed or deposited), or a,t die mouth or entranoe of any such river oi stream, is hereby prohibited. 3. All lakes, lagoons, and other waters connected with or adjoining any rtftr afore--1 said, at or near its mouth or entranoe shal 1 be deemed to be included in and form part I of the mouth or entrance of such river. 4 Any person committing a breach of these regulations shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding one hundred pounds '.
