Consolation Starts Handicap— <)f 15 soys ; 1 mile ; for all beaten hones nomination, 1 soy ; post entrieß. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. Night of general entry, Thursday, 10th March, 1881. 2. All nominations and acceptances mußt be made in writing and sent In sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, Albion Hotel, Greymouth, and contain entrance money, sweepstakes, description and age of horse, and colors to be worn by the jockey. 3. All stakes paid less 5 per cent. Three horses must start for each race, or the publlo money will be withheld ; the races will be run under the Greymouth Jockey Clab Rulea. 4. No entry will be received unless upon the distinct understanding that the decision of the stewards, or whoever they may appoint, shall in all cases be final, and all law proceedings barred. 5. All entries for the Hack Race are to be made subject to the approval of the stewards. 6. All horses must be ridden in colors. . 7. In the event of any person entering a protest, the sum of L 2 mat be lodged with the Secretary before suoh protest is considere i ; this sum to be forfeited to the funds should the stewards consider the pro* test frivolous or vexatious. 8. All parties entering a horse mnst pay the sum of L 2 2s to the Race Fund in order to qualify themselves, entrieß for the Hack Races only being excepted. 9.
