REEFTON MINING NOTES.

Mr G. C. Bowmav, stock and sharebroker, Reefton, reports for the week endIng Maroh sfch, as under: — . . . The Welcome Company's return for the week is 646 ounces of amalgam from 100 tons quartz. Stone of exceedingly rich quality was struck yesterday, which has caused an active demand for shares, bat holders are not disposed, to part at tho present time. The United^Alpine Company for the weekemshed 166 tons of quartz the result being 336 ounces of amalgam from the plates only. The usual monthly cleaning up took place to-day. 460 ounces of retorted gold waa lodged,'with the Bank of New Zealand, and a dividend of 9d per share was declared. The Golden Fleece Extended Company for the week put through 135 tons of quartz and obtained 238 ounces of amalgam from the top plates only. Driving in the north low level towards the Fleece winze is being proceed with. Nil Desperandum Company struck nice looking stone yesterday which is estimated will go at least an ounce to the ton.
