WHEREAS by a Proclamation issued under the authority of sections one hundred and tweuty-two, one hundred and twenty -three, and one-hundred and twentyfonr of •• The Public Works Aot, 187G," the middle line of the railway from Greymouth to Hokitika (main portion), being one of the railways specified in " The Immigration and Publio Works Appropriation Act, 1878." was defined : And whereas pursuant to the one hundred and twenty-fifth section of '• The Publio Works Act, 1876," the Minister for Public Works has caused to be made and, on the twelfth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventynine, to be deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Hokitika, suoh maps and plans as were necessary to explain the said portion of the said line of railway and the land through which the same passes, and such maps and plans were referred to la such Proclamation as aforesaid : And whereas the railway from Greyoiouth to Hokitika is one of the railways specified in*" The Publio Works Act, 1879," and it is enacted therein that suoh of the railways mentioned as are unfininiihed may be completed under the provisions of " The Publio Works Act, 1876," "The Poblic Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and "The Public Works Act, 1879 : " And whereas the land desoribed in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a ' further part of the said portion of the Baid line of railway : Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the sixth seotion of " The Public Works Aot 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and of every power and authority in that behalf, dotb hereby proclaim and declare that the land described' in the Schedule hereto is taken for the said further part of the said line of railway. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 7 acm 2 roods 31 perches more or less, situated within Native Reserve No. 31, in the Town of Greymouth. being Sections Nos. 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, 214, 216, and portion of Sections Nos. 205, 206, 207, 208, and the portion of right-of-way between Sections 209 and 210, of the Baid reserve : Commencing at the junction of the northern side of th« North Town Belt with South-eastern side of Chapel Street West. Bounded— North-westerly by southeastern Bide of Chapel Street West, 2140 links and 232 links respectively, to a point in the north-western boundary of Seotion 205 ; South-easterly, 610 links, to the boifeljary between Sections Nob. 208 and 209 ; North-easterly, by the said boundary, 322.6 links, to the southern boundary of Section No. 209; South-easterly by the southern boundaries of Sections Nob. 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, 214, and 215, 1403 links, to the northern side of North Town Belt, aforesaid ; Southerly by the said northern side of North Town Belt, 603 links : aB delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 7429, deposited in the office of the Minister for Pnblio Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
