Melbourne, June 18. The papers here publish the text of Sir Michael Hicks-Beach's despatch to Lord Normanby, a subject which has been fully anticipated by direct telegraph. The Legislative Assembly, last night, passed a vote of L 300,000 for education, and rejected a resolution regarding the financial administration of the Ministry, which was tantamount to a v.ote of confidence. The healih of Lady Normanby is more satisfactory, though she is still weak. June 19. The Parliament meets for despatch of business on the : Bth July. The Government have notified to the Associated Banks that they intend to withdraw the public account at the end of six months. No reason has been assigned. The Australian and European Bank reopens on Saturday.
