Wellington, March 30, The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency have received the following telegram : — " London, March 27.— W00l sales closed firmly ; 28,000 bales have been held over for future disposal ; 24,000 have been withdrawn during the sales ; 180,000 bales have been taken for export. The sales closed at a decline of to 1 d per Ib. The principle decline has been in cross-bred lambs, superior greasy and washed clothing, and combiner qualities. Wheat market quiet. Adelaide worth 493 ; New Zealand, 475 ; tallow, fat,' and mutton, 353 ; beef, 33a 6d. Leather trade demand is good ; best sides, 9^d,
