There was an improved demand during the week for Victorias. The lode continues strong, and opens up well, which makes them favorite Btocks ; and there can be no doubt as soon as tbe company commence to operate upon the 1000 tons to be crushed at the Westland battery, there will be an advance on present prices. Darks remains inactive, and will continue so until the shaft reef is cut. The Nil Desperandum continue! in favor, and an improved yield is expected very Bhortly. The Jndepent is raising 12 or 13 dwts, ston ;>, and ia looked upon as a genuine thing
