London, July 21. The Australian Cricketers played against eleven of Cambridge University at Lord's. The first innings of the University closed for 285. Highest score, A Lyttelton, 72. Bannerman. 1; sundries, 11. Cambridge bowling was very effective. Morton alone took seven wickets. The bowling of the Australians was considerably knocked about. The attendance was enormous. The wickets were in splendid order. The weather is hot. Loudon, July 15. In the House of Commons Mr Sullivan raised a question whether Sir B. O'Loghlen's acceptance of office in the Victorian Government does not vacate his seat in the House of Commons, to which he was elected by an Irish constituency. The Attorney-General replied that the decision on the question rested with the House. The subject will be renewed on Wednesday.
