POST-SESSIONAL UTTERANCES.
Dunedin, May 16.
Mr Seaton, member for Green Island, addressed his constituents last night. He defended the action of the Otago representatives against the charge that they had sold the rights of the Province, and said that they had made the best bargain ever made for Otago. The proposal for manhood suffrage he regarded as " Buncombe," but he would perhaps be forced to vote tor it to prevent the Atkinson Government getting into power. He thought the only way out of the present difficulties was to have County or Board of Works for each Island. A vote of confidence was carried unanimously.
