LATER EUROPEAN TELEGRAMS,
TWO DAY'S LATER NEWS FROM AUSTRALIA. By the arrival of the Zephyr, we are placed in possession of two day's later papers from Melbourne, from which we extract the following items •; — Paris, Sept. 29. At the second election of a deputy for the department of Marne et Loire the Republican defeated the Septennatist candidate, notwithstanding that the Bonapartists supported the latter. Great importance is attached to the result. London, Sept. 30. Sir James Fergusson, Bart , Governor of New Zealand, and MrDeas Thompson, C.8., of Sydney, have been gazetted Knights Commanders of the Order of St. Michael and St. Gorge. St. Petersburg, Sept. 30. The " Journal of St. Petersburg," declares that the agreement between Austria, Germany, and Ru3sia remains intact, notwithstanding that Russia ha 3 not recognised Spain, being desirous of abstaining from interference in Spaish affairs. The Czar simply acknowledged the letter of Don Carlos, thanking His Majesty for the non-recognition of the Spanish Republic.
