The Superintendent has proclaimed the 7th of October a holiday, in honor of the 105 th anniversary of Captain Cook's arrival in New Zealand. The barqueniine Falcon, 285 ions register, built to order for Watt Bros., Napier, was successfully launched to-day, and is intended to trade between Napier and Australia. Nelson, Sept. 30. There have been constant but not very heavy rains with a strong breeze from the north-west since Sunday. The p.s. Charles Edward which sailed on Sunday for the West Coast, lay at Tntarunui Bay in company with a barque and three schooners till yesterday, and put back last night.
