PER TARARUA FROM MELBOURNE THE GOVERNORSHIP OF NEW ZEALAND. LOND©N, Aug. 11. Sir James Fergusson has resigned the position of Governor of New Zealand, and his Excellency the Marquis of Normanby, the present Governor of Queensland, has been appointed to succeed him. London, Aug. 13. England and France have recognised the Spanish Govenment. Bazaine has escaped from the Isle of St. Margurite. The escape was planned by his wife. He descended the cliffs by a rope ladder, and was conveyed away by vessel which was waiting for him. The officials connected with the fortress are placed under surveillance. August 14. Mr Cairn 3, a brother of the Lord Chancellor, succeds the Marquis of Normanby as Oovernor of Queensland.
