Christchurch. — The Lyttelton Times of Saturday last reports :—

There is little to report in the way of purchases from first hands. Only a few odd lots of wheat have come in during the week, at prices ranging from 4s 4d to 4s 6d. A fair amount of export business has been doing, the quantity r>f wheat shipped during the week on board vessels in Lyttelton, exclusive of London shipments, amounting to about 15.000 sacks. We have heard of no first hand transactions in oats, which we still quote at 4s to 4s 3d to farmers. Stocks held by exporters are getting low ; the shipments during the week having been, considerable. Farmers are almost cleared out of barley, which is worth from 4s 4d to 4s 6d. There have been some extensive merchant transactions during the week at prices withheld. There is no alteration in millers' quotations for flour, &c, which remain as follows :— Flour, Ll2 in sacks, Ll2 10s in 1001 b bags, Ll3 for 501 b bags ; bran. L 6 53 per ton ; sharps, L 7 per ton, with 10s extra f.o.bin in Lyttelton ; oatmeal, L 25 per ton. Consequent on shortness of feed, butter still continue* to fetch high rates, farmers receiving 12£dto 13d ; cheese is* saleable at s§d to 6cl ; bacon and hams in cloth are worth B^l f.o b. in Lyttelton ; hams only, j lid; bacon, 74d. We quote potatoes at from L 3 5s to L 3 7s 6d.
