Oats are firm at from 4s 3d to 4s 4d. local demand being large and stocks limited, we think these pi ices will be maintained till j spring, unless shipments from California should affect our Provincial market. Barley is is fair demand at 5s to 5s 3d for good bright malting samples ; the exports during the past week have been considerable. Byegrass seed is ready of sale at 4s 3d. Butter is dull of«s»le at 10 to IH. for this description of produce, outside orders* orders are almost ntJ, present prices precluding all exports. Cheese is in good supply at ; from did to Gi. Hams are. worth :Is ' Of ' bacon there is none in the market, nor will there be fora fortnight yet In potatoes, purchases have been made during the past, week at L 3 for early delivery ia Christchurch, ; -say twelve or fourteen: days-hence. ..For fat stock there is a fur., demand, which will most likely increase as' the season advances. . At the yardß,"<m Wednesday, there -was a; large entry of stock, and fat sheep sold well; in Borne instances lealising 3d per lb for prime cross-bredß with gooii skins. We, however leave our average quotations to stand at 2e*d per lb, with an upward tendency. For fat cattle, the demand was scarcely so brisk as last week, but we leave our quotation to stand at 208 per lb. Store cattle were moved off with difficulty, and several lots were turned out unsold.
