GREY VALLEY PROVINCIAL COUNCIL ELECTION.
[from our own correspondent. J Ahaura, March 21. The nomination of candidates. to represent the Grey Valley dristrict in the Provincial Council took place to-day. Mr Livingstone proposed and Mr M'Kenna seconded Mr Bernard Maguire, of No Town ; Mr Cunningham proposed and Mr Wakefield seconded Mr W. H. Lash, of Noble's ; Mr Ellis proposed and Mr Evans seconded Mr J. W. Jones ; Mr Pinkerton proposed and Dr Phillips seconded ' Mr M. H. Hayden. The intended nominators of S. M. Mackley and Matthew Feehan arrived too late. The show of hands was — Jones, 2 ; Haydenj 8 ; Lash, 6 ; M'Guire, 4. Each candidate addressed the electors, and all were well received. The poll is fixed for the 28th instant.
