There were no arrivals or departures at this port yesterday, in consequence of the detention of the p s. Lioness at Hokitika. Whenever she arrives she will have her work cut out for her, as all the vessel in port are loaded up with coal, and ready to put to sea. The p s. Charles Edward, from Nelson, via Hokitika, is expected to arrive here on this morning's tide, and to leave the same night for the north. It is with much regret we learn by telegraph that the fine schooner Sarah and Mary, belonging to the Westland Freight Company, and recently the property of Mr M. Kennedy, was yesterday afternoon stranded while being towed out of Hokitika. Our telegrams state that sho was likely to be got off last night.
