A portion of the cargo is discharged, and she will probably get off on to-night's tide. Auckland, March 5. Sailed— Ladybird, with the Californian mail. Messrs Yogel, Richardson, and Pollen are passengers. Wellington, March 5. The Mongol abandons her voyage to Hong Kong, and will return to Otago to take out the English and American mails, The Cyphrenes conveys them from Sydney. Pout Chalmeks, March 5. The ship Scimitar has arrived with 430 souls. She made the passage from Plymouth in 70 days, but has been placed in quarantine, with six cases of scarlet fever on board. There have been twenty-six deaths, mostly children from six months to five years. Two families were put ashore for fever before the ship left.
