THE AHAURA ROAD BOARD.
♦ [to the editor.] Sir — In the Argus of Thursday last I observed that Mr Jones, the Chairman of the Grey Valley Road Board, has circulars issued calling for the opinions of the Board as to the advisability of striking a rate, electing a secretary, &c. Seeing the Board has now been in office since the Bth October without having done anything, and will all have to be re-elected on the Ist April, and as the sub-district of No Town will then have its own Board independent of the Ahaura, it will, I presume, be more agreeable to the electors that all taxation be postponed until after the next election. I am, &c, One who expects to be taxbdi No Town, Feb. 23.
