Kelmode, Esq. Smiler was got by Prince, a pure Suffolk horse, imported by Mr For.d, from whom he was purchased, out of a remarkably fine mare, got by Czar, a Clydesdale horse, imported from Scotland, by the late Mr Scott. The breed on dams side, were originally frsm a mare got by Clydesdale Ben, a fine imported Clydesdale to Sydney about twenty years ago, and has been crossed by none but imported Clydesdales, with the exception of Prince. Golden Eagle is a rich brown, and has ran successfully in Kelson and Marlborough. It will be seen that he possess a very large amount of Eclipse blood, as, independently of gthe several strains of blood through Risk his sire, there have to be added those got through Sir Hercules, a direct descendant of Whisker. Golden Eagle's great grand-sire Skeleton, bred by the Marquis of Sligo, was one of the best horses that ever ran on the Cnrragh of Kildare, where he won five races out of six for whi h he started the year he was brought out, and was then sold for £.2000 to be shipped for Australia. The stock of Risk are well-known in Marlborough as admirable hackneys, and Golden Eagle has also proved a valuable horse at the atud.
