After a few remarks from the Chairifak, he introduced Mr Dungan to the meeting? '■■> . He also Bpijke' of tbe ■ new order of things under the Pribvince of Westland, hoping that in its' creation a greater prosperity wquld accrue to Westland,. Manyquestipnswer^putby the meeting, which being satisfactorily answered, r - Mr James . Cloonan prQposed^ and Mr Walter Hay seconded a resolution to the effetit' that Mr P. Dungan r was a fit and proper person to represent this district in the new Provincial Council. The motion on being put by the Chairman was carried by acclamation. : Mr Harry Burger proposed a vote of thanks for the efficient manner in which Mr Dungan had looked after the interest of this district in the County Council. The resolution was seconded by, Mr H. Kedrum,- and on being put to the meeting, was 'Carried amid a round of hearty cheers.
