' ' Young Douglas" is a "dark bay with black points, three years old, and stand 164 bands, with tremendous bone and substance, good action and fine mild temper. Pedigreb I.—1 .— " Sir Colin Campbell" was got by the well-known horse "King Fergus," out of the celebrated Mare "Scotland's Pride." " King Fergus" was got by "Lord r Byron," the property of Af r Proudfoot, Dunjfrieshire, who fgained|> v the i vp - rize-- 1 .0^£40 t jat' <- Annan, when l 4 years'oidT" "Lord Byron" ; was got by " Old Prince Loyal," who gained ' the first prize at Aberdeen, and also at Johnston. V King -'Fergus'' '^ was' -bredi-by Mr Vluir, Kircudbright9hire, out of his prize mare, which was bred by Mr Frame; Clydeside. „." King Fergus" gained seven first prizes'ih : IS6Uj r 'and' ! he had the first prize as jbeing^the best animal of the horse-kind at 'the great show at Hamilton. " Scotland's Pride" was got by the celebrated Clydesdale horse "Lofty," out of the well-known Smithston stock. "Lofty" was the property of Mr Samuel Clark, and gained the premium at Glasgow, opeSTto all Scotland. " Scotland's Pride" gained the premium of ,the Highland Society's Show in 1861, as a three year old. She has also gained five first f prizes in Canterbury. "Young Douglas" will stand at Mr Jas. Marshall's Stables, T6tara -Flat, every Saturday ; and at Mr John Reid's Station, near Ahaura, during the. rest of the week. Terms — Four Guineas per Mare, payable on Ist January, 1874.
