Sandringham, 8 a.m. The Prince passed a restless night, and slept but little. Signs are less favorable. Christchurch, Jan. 17. The Executive only promised to give the police a month's notice of reduction of pay. The men say they misunderstood this, and now say that they will resign as soon as they receive notice. C. Whittington stabbed W. Parish, but not dangerously. He is committed for trial. Dqnedin, Jan. 37. After two days' sitting the Presbyterian Sjiiod, by 19 to 18 votes, requested the Rev. Mr Sutherland to resign the pastorate of the First Church, and severely censured his conduct.
