Consols remain at 101 1, ex div.; New Zealand Five Per Cent. 10-40 Loan, 104] ; Five Per Cent. 1889 Loan, 104: Four and a-half Per Cent. 1879-1904 Loan, 102]. Total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain, 2,150,000 quarters, being 20,000 less than Last week. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, remains at 49s Cd ; New Zealand ditto has declined to 43s 6d (lowest) ; Adelaide flour, ex store, 345. The total stock of tallow in the London market to-day is 13,200 casks, being an increase of 200 casks compared with the stock last month. Australian tallow is unchanged at 42s for best beef and 44s 6d for best mutton.

At to-day’s wool sale 5700 bales were offered, and prices somewhat firmer. The P. and O. Company’s steamship Rohilla, which left Melbourne on October 12th, arrived at Plymouth to-day.

LONDON, December 2. There are no changes to report in the money or produce markets. The catalogue at to-day’s wool sale comprised 8100 bales. The firm prices of yesterday were maintained to-day. The Eight Hon. Henry Fawcett, Postmaster-General, is seriously indisposed, and his condition is now considered critical.

Anthony Trollope has suffered a severe relapse, and also is in a dangerous state of health.

The wool sales catalogue comprised 89,000 bales, of which 9SOO were withdrawn. Good bulky merinos and best crossbreds met with support at previous values, but inferior greasy merino suffered a reduction of from a Jd to Id, while coarse crossbreds were Id and inferior scoured 2d lower. In the House of Commons, Mr Glad-' stone’s proposals for the appointment of committees to deal with the subjects of Law and Commerce have been carried by way of experiment.

Another constable has been shot in Kerry.
