GREAT FIRE AT TIMARU.

At 3.30 this morning a fire broke out in the premises of Messrs Park and Anderson, drapers, whioh quickly spread to the adjoining shop of James Strachan, clothier. The Brigade turned out promptly, but before they could get to work the fire had communioated to Messrs Taylor and Bjwie'a store. All three buildings and their heavy stocks were totally destroyed. The old Bank Hotel, adjoining, was saved, and the fire extended to the baok of the "Times" offioo. The shops on the north side were Baved by a large party brick wall. The insurance on the buildin?e of Messrs Park and Anderson and Btraohan (owned by Capt.Sutter) was: Bouthßritish,£soojlmperial, £6oojViotoria,£sooj Colonial,£soO. On Messrs Taylor and Bowie's store (also owned by Capt. Sutter), Boyal, £250 ; Victoria, £250 ; Standard, £250; Colonial, £350. On the stock of Messrs Park and Anderson —London and Globe, £500; Standard, £500; Sun, £SCO; New Zsalaud, £SOO ; National, £SOO ; Union, £500; South British, £SOO. Total, £3500. They estimate their loss at |£2ooo over the amount of insurance. Messrs Taylor and Bowie's stock was insured in the National for £SOO, Liverpool and Globe, £500; Boyal, £750 ; and Tiotoria, £750. Total, £2500. They estimate their loss at £IOOO over the amount of insurance. Messrs Strachan are insured on stock in the National to the amount of £750 ; in the London and Lancashire for £750. Total, £ISCO. He estimates his loss at £SCO over the insurance.
