Information was received by the Telegraph Department yesterday that the overland communication between Alexandria and Suez was temporarily interrupted, but a further telegram, this morning states that communication has been restored. OAMABTJ, July 12. Alexander Beattie, charged on remand at tho Magistrate’s Court to-day with the murder of Sarah Beattie, or Adams, has been further remanded until Tuesday next. INVERCARGILL, July 12. A petition bearing 200 signatures has been forwarded to the member for Awaraa urging the necessity for fencing the ra-’way between tho Bluff and Invercargill, on which large numbers of cattle have boon killed, and narrow escapes from serious accidents have sometimes occurred.
