MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17. For tho United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only) Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Capo of Good Hope, Suez, tho Mediterranean Porta, Australian Colonies, &0., per express train, to connect with s.s. Rotorua, at Bluff, as follow?: — Ordinary letters at 7 a.m.; books and newspapers at 6 a.m.; registered letters at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the 16th November; money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 16th November. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Po t Office van attached to the exprees train on Wednesday, 17th November. This mail will be due in London on January 6th. 1881. Note.—The Brindisi letter rate of postage for tho United Kingdom is 8d per half-ounce. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18. For Northern ports, per Rotomahana at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m,; guard’s van, 4.5 p.m. train. For Otago, per Penguin, at 12 25 p m ; late fee letters, 12.35 p.m.; guard’s van, 1.25 p.m. train. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, &c , via San Francisco, will close on Saturday, 4th De'ember, and will be due in Loudon on the ißth January, 1831. Note. —On and after Saturday, 4th December. the Money Order and Savings Banks Office will close each Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, 'ihe office will open a;ain at h:lf-past six o’clock to receive Savings Bank deposits only, and will remain open till half-past eight o’clock.
