POST OFFICE NOTICES
Mails olose at the Chief Post Office foe the following places as onder, subject to the necessary alterations •
THURSDAY, JANUARY 16. For Northern forts of New Zealand, per Riugarooum, at 1.50 p.xn.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; late letterbox, guard’s van, 2.-10 p.m. train. For Wellington, per Star of the Soulh, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.35 p.m.; late letter box, gnard’s van, 4 p.m. train. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tni, at 4.45 p.m. Late letter box, guard’s van, must not be used for this mail. Supplementary mails for the United Kingdom via Southampton and Brindisi, will close on Friday, January 17th, at 7.30 a.m., for despatch overland per express train to connect with mail steamer at Port Chalmers. The next mail tor the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close at this office on January 31st, and will be due in London on March 18th. NOTICE. A travelling Post Office having been established on the Southern line of railway, letters bearing a late fee of two pence may be posted at any station in the mail carriage attached to the express train, and they will be included in the mails made up in transit for offices on the main line and branches.
