Sailed—Ladybird, for Lyttelton and the South, at 3 p.m. Passengers—Messrs Duncan, Pax-sous, Pharazyn (2), Kyatt, Mrs C. Nicholls. The Merchant Shipping Underwriters’ Association report, under date London, December 27th Arrived—Mono Castle, at New York, from Auckland. Arrived —Hannah Barrett, from Lyttelton. Nelson, January 2. Arrived —Fernglen, 80 days from London, with 225 immigrants and six cabin passengers, for Wellington. There were three deaths of children and one birth on hoard. The vessel will probably proceed to Wellington with all her immigrants tomorrow, they being principally for Wanganui. Wellington, January 3. The steamer City of New York, with the outward San Francisco mails, cleared Sydney Heads at 4 p.m. on Thursday for Aucklandd. Port Chalmers, January 3. Arrived—Shaw Shaville’s ship Nowall, with fifty passengers and 2500 tons cargo, from London, after a passage of eighty days from land to land, ninety days from port to port. She left Loudon on the 4th October, and met with a terrilic S.W. gale in the chops of tho Channel. Cleared Scilly on October 12th, crossed Equator Nov. 7th, and on 13th lost a •palpable Clydesdale entire, Bonnie Scotland, value £ISOO, owned by Mr James Walls of Canterbury ; cause of death, inflammation. She rounded Cape of Good Hope December Ist, had strong gales W.N.W. to W.S.W. across the Southern Ocean, and passed the Snares on 31st December.
