CHRISTCHURCH v TIMAEU. [by telegeaph. feom oue own coeeesPONDENT.] TIMAHTX, November 30. The cricket match to-day was played in a drizzling rain. About 400 people were present in the afternoon. The match was decided in Qne jnmngs jn favor of Timaru by 40 runs. Fo? Cluistchurch, Sweet, Wood, Mathias, and Skelton played well. For Timaru, D'Emden and Neilson. Christchurch won the toss, and sent their own men to the wickets. Sweet's bowling was good, and so was Godby's. In the second innings all Christchurch men showed up well. The scores are as follows : Cheibtchtjech, Ist innings—Horner 0, Wilson fi, Moore 9, Fowler 4, Sweet 23, Mathiaß 7, Wood 16, Skelton 8, Dickenßon 4, Frith 1, Warner (not out) 0, byes 7, leg-byes 2, wides 14 ; total, 101. Timaeu, Ist innings—Q-odby 0, D'Emden (not out) 69, Neilson 37, Fraser 0, 0. Perry 1, Hammersley 0, Knubley 8, Cooke 0, Blundell 4, A. Perry 6, Evans 0, byes 19, leg-byes 2. wide balls 3 ; total, 141. Chbistchuech, 2nd innings—Horner 11. Wilson 5, Moore (not out) 33, Fowler 46, Sweet 31, Mathias 17, Wood 1, Skelton (not out) 0, byes 8, leg-byes 5, wide balls 8; total 170. The dinner takes place to-night.
