POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to necessary alterations SATURDAY, DECEMBER Ist. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. For Akaroa and Otago, per Hawea, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. For Wellington, Nelson, and Australian Colonies, per Alhambra, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports and Chatham Islands, per Wellington; at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station 2,40 p.m. train. MONDAY. DECEMBER 3itn. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. A mail will bo despatched for the United Kingdom, via Sue/, Canal, per Orient steamer Cuzco, on or about December 6th. Correspondence must he specially addressed per Orient line. Important—The following changes in local mail traffic will take place on the Ist proximo. Daily mails for Ashburton, Temuka, and Tima.ru now closed at .‘5.10 p.m. will, until further notice, close at 4.30 p.m. The Kulinchy mail now (dosing at 3.10 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday will, until inrther notice, close on the game day at 4.30 p.m. BUSSELL J.
