CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, February 27. [Before G. L. Hellish, Esq., R.M.] DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. John Andrews, for drunkenness, was fined 10s. Donald Munro, charged with being drunk while in charge of a horse and dray, and resisting the police, was fined 20s. Thomas Robb, arrested for being drunk and soliciting alms, was fined 6s. William Hall and James Duncan, arrested for being drunk, were each fined ss. DRUNK AND USING OBSCENE LANGUAGE. George Waterman, arrested for being drunk and using obscene language in a public place was fined 10a. WIFE DESERTION. Stephen Warren was brought up on warrant, charged with deserting his wife on the 7th February. Mrs Warren asked the Bench to allow the case to be withdrawn, as her husband had explained to her the reason of his absence. His Worship granted the request. Case withdrawn. ILLEGALLY ON PREMISES. William McKay was charged with being illegally in Mr Gresson’s office, Fisher’s buildings, at a quarter to five this morning. The accused had been seen or. the verandah of the building, and had broken a window to get into the office. When the constable was informed of this he entered the premises at the back and found the man in Mr Gresson’s office. He also saw the broken glass on the ground. The accused had the key of the front door in his pocket when arrested. His Worship remanded the accused until Monday for the evidence of Mr Gresson. KAIAPOI. Friday, February 26. (Before J. Birch, Esq.) DRUNK AND INDECENT. W. Galvin, arrested on North road by Constable Haldane, was charged with drunkenness and indecency on Thursday. Pined 10s and costs. EANGIORA. Friday, February 26.1 (Before A. H. Cunningham, Esq. x DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. A. Say, arrested by Mounted Sergeant Wallace, was charged with having been drunk and disorderly. Fined 10s and costs.
