The Customs revenue collected yesterday was as follows £ s. d. Spirits 293 13 10 Tea 10 12 6 Coffee 9 18 3 Sugar ... 20 6 10 Sundries 16 19 2 £337 10 7 Sydney. —Sydney advices are to the 17th. The following is extracted from exchanges to that date Ale and porter: Small quantities of Marxian's ale sold yesterday at .£7 per hhd, and holders are tinner. There was a fair demand for bottled brands, and business was done at late market rates. Breadstuffs, grain, &C: The market remains without animation, at £l4 for bakers’ lots of Adelaide superfine flour, and £l3 for Sydney mills. There is scarcely any demand for wheat. Building materials.Cement is not quite so firm, as forced sales of unknown brands have interfered with business. Stocks are moderate. Dundee goods: Cornsacks are selling at 12s, but business is exceedingly quiet. There is some trade in woolpacks, at 3s lOd to 3s lid per pack. Fish: The anticipation of further shipments of American salmon makes holders anxious to quit, while the trade are indisposed to buy at above 10s for parcels. A line for shipment was placed yesterday at 9s 101 d per dozen. In other kinds of fish business is excessively dull. Oilman’s stores, groceries, &c.: There has been a little move movement at current market rates, but prices show no tendency to improve, and stocks are again abundant. Teas: The telegraphic news per Alexandra should be favourable, to holders, if borne our, by the advices which may be expected at the end of this week. The Janet Stewart sailed for Sydney on July 26th, with 242,672 lbs tea, and on the 27th, the Lass of Gawlcr for Brisbane, and on the 2stb, two vessels for Melbourne. The exports lor the season were, in all probability, likely to be unusually light.
