Invercargill, June 17. Breunan was brought up at the Resident Magistrates Court, and remanded for eight days. The girl haying recovered consciousness, her deposition was taken at the hospital. She said she remembered Brennan saying “ I will kill you.” Did not know why he said so, as she had never done anything to him. Brennan, who was present, exclaimed, “ God bless you, not on this earth ; I don’t wish it.” Auckland, June 17. In the Supreme Court to-day in Banco in the case of Fraser, R.M., v Reid and Brett, proprietors of the “ Star,” for criminal libel, counsel on behalf of defendants stated he should offer no objection to making rule absolute rule granted.
