WELLINGTON, March 23. An u'nti-eyclono still extends eastwards from New Zealand but a shallow depression is advancing across the south Tasman Sea. A tropical cyclone is at present situated over the New Hebrides group’and is moving slowly southwards. Forecast Winds: North-easterly to northerly, light to moderate generally, bub gradually freshening, especially from Cook Strait southwards. Setts (N.Z. waters) : Slight to moderate, but rising about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate, hut freshening winds, easterlies prevailing in the northern portion, anil northetrlies in the southern; seas slight to moderate but, later, increasing in the northern portion .

Weather: Mainly fair to cloudy, with rising temperatures, hut some isolated showers or misty rain still p: obablc at first in tho eastern coastal areas and later unsettled} conditions and scattered rain developing in the western and southern districts of the South Island and also in the Ear North. „ .
