A charge of. driving a motor hearse in a manner which might in the circumstances have been dangerous, was preferred against Edward Henry Webber, cabinetmaker, Levin, before Air J. L. Stout, S.Ai. Defendant was returning from a funeral at Peilding, and collided Avith a car driven by Fiank Tucker, avlio ivas injured by cuts. Police inquiries sliOAvcd that neither Webber nor Tucker had a driving licence.—Constable Baker, Levin, said Webber Avas a cabinetmaker and conducted funerals. In a statement ho set out that he Avas returning from a funeral and Avas not sure of the correct turn to take near Dunnytliorpe. AVhfle looking for the signpost he collided with Tucker. His speed Avas moderate. Ha obtained a driver’s licence next day. A line of £3 and costs Avas imposed on the dangerous driving charge, and a fine-of 10/- and costs on that of' having, no licence.
