Correspondence from the Department read at the meeting suggested that in view of tho circumstances relating to tho removal of poAver lines from Tucker’s paddock, where it was first intended to construct the. new school, tho hoard investigate • the possibility of acquiring some other suitable site. Asked to report on the matter, the two Gisborne members, Messrs J. S. Waucbop and T. A. Oolem.an. recommended tho 'acquisition of a block of 27 acres on the toAvn side of the Oval. This section of land would have entrance from Roebuck road, Disraeli street, and Anzac street, and Avas regarded as an excellent site ill lieu, of tho other block not being'purchased. The recommendation Avas .adopted, and it Ava-s decided to forward it to the department. 'The plans AVer© approved and Avere also referred to the Department.
