Brought to laud in a comatow condition, after he £i»d been strugglingin the harbour for -a short time near Aotea Quay (Wellington) about fivp.m. on Saturday, Michael Joseph Curran, 69, an.inmate of Ohiro Horn , died without regaining consciousness. A single man, he was a native o Ireland, but had been in New Zealand about 15 years. He is believed' have fallen over Aotea Quay or is head bore injuries consistent with his having struck part of the whar m bis fall. Artificial respiration was applied, hut without avail A young mdn, James Rewi Dunne, a member of the crew ,of H.M.S. Achil es, stripped and, despite the cold, dived into the harbour bringing 'Cunran to the wharf.—Press Assn: -
