VIOLENT STORM
MUCH DAMAGE IN MELBOURNE

A violent .sandstorm with a velocity of between 50 and 60 miles, ■swept. Melbourne yesterday, resulting in much damage. A boy aged 10 and a. woman aged 26, were killed at Belgrlave Hill, a resort near the city, by >% falling- tree. Plate glass windows in several city stores l were blown in. A boy, man, horse and cart wore blown through a shop window at Port Melbourne. Trees are doWn across St Kikla. road. There is much damage to fences in the suburbs. Two boats are missing in Port Phillip Bay, and yachts also were, driven ashore, and wrecked. The .storm arose suddenly and blew with unabated violence all day. Many reports of damage are now coming in from tho country areas. The storm was still fierce tonight.
