POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION Tho executive of tho Poverty Bay Hockey Association met. on Monday evening. Present: Messrs IT. Le Bas (chairman), C. Burkenshaw, It. Kciha, G. Slade, G. Graham, A. Bryan, J. Henderson, B. Crosby, and the lion secretary, Mr V. Butler, In connection with the vis'b o*i the Fiji women’s team, the hillctting com mitt.ee reported that accommodation had been obtained for all the. visitors and the filial arrangements were loffe with the chairman and the secretary, A sub-cornih't.tec to attend to ground (arrangements was elected as follows: Messrs Lo Bas, J. Henderson, and G. Graham. A letter was received from Mr. 1). W. Coleman. M.P.. stating that ho would take pleasure in presiding at. the reception lo be given to the visitors at 7.M0 p.m. nri Tlursday of next week at the Regent Theatre, on winch occasion the Hockey Association had a. p’eture irght. ’lt was- also hoped that items would be given by the visitors.
'Tiro decision to effect a rain insurance on the Fiji match was reviewed. Last week the meeting decided to insure the gate aga’nst rain between IV a., in. and 2 p.m., for £IOO. but on Monday night it was agreed that, the period .should be changed to lO' a.in. to 1 p.m.
It was decided to p'oceed with the arrangement, to play the Poverty Bay lady represent stive team aga'nst the High School A junior men’s team for a. practice outing next Saturday. As a curtain-raiser for the icpresentative game next week, it was decided to select- a representative team from the men’.s junior grade to play Y.M.C.A. (B) sen‘ors. Mrs 11. It was decided, to-remit the affiliation fee to the men's headquarters-. . ' . . The Napier Kub-nssociat’on forwarded a challenge for the Lady Can ell Shield, held by Wairoa. It. was deeid- . ed that this should lie accepted .‘and forwarded to Wni on, and to -send a challenge from Poverty Bay for tho trophy.
