In regard to the valuation resolutions replies as under wero read at tho monthly mooting of the Cook County Council yesterday from tho Hon. F. Langstone, Minister in Chargo of the Valuation Department. In regard to soldier settlers’ valuations, the work of revising the valuations in district rolls is- proceed’ng, with the object of bringing the valuations into line with present-day conditions of the market.
The suggestion to confine the ground of objection to new individual valuations to the unfairness or incorrectness of the valuation in regard to other valuations made during the geno-"a 1 revision had a good deal to commend it and would, he brought, forward when amended legislation is cons’’dered. The valuation of all lands in hospital, harbour and electric power districts in tlfc same year by the same valuer was not considered practicable, but would receive further consideration.
It was not considered advisable to Jay down a hard and fast rule for revaluing districts in rotation, As far as possible an interval of live to seven years is observed, but there are often special circumstances which make departure from a strict rotation desirable.
0 It was decided that the Jotter be on tho table and that a letter he sent to the Minister thanking him for the information.
