POSITION OF. EXISTING CONTRACTS LEGISLATION TO AID CONTRACTORS (Press Association!.' AUCKLAND, July 15. The Government proposes to make provision for a variation of the existing contracts whore tho cost of cairjout out the work is increased as a result of the restoration of the wages rates to the 1031 level, according t.r> o. statement hy the Munster of Labor, the Hon. FT. T. Armstrong-, made in a letter tq the Auckland Drivers’ Union. It was stated hi Auckland this morning that contractors had been concerned over the prospect of having to meet additional costs through wages being increased and net being able to recoup themselves.
